01 · The story

A landlocked country. A rising appetite for fish.

Ethiopia has no coastline, and its lake fisheries are under growing pressure, while demand from hotels and restaurants keeps rising. Consistent, quality fish was hard to get, and harder to trust.

So we went to the source. Our whitefish is farmed in the Mekong Delta; our salmon in the cold waters of Norway and Chile, processed in certified Vietnamese facilities, then imported to Ethiopia from Vietnam. Every product is traceable to its true origin.

What was missing was a trustworthy bridge to carry it, cold and documented, all the way to Addis. NileX is that bridge, owned end to end.

02 · Sourcing philosophy
Specify, don't settle

We don't sell "fish." We sell a documented spec, cut, grade, glaze and pack, repeatable order after order, so a kitchen plates the same result every time.

Own the cold

The cold chain is the product. We control it from the pond in the Mekong to the cold store in Addis, never letting it break and never asking you to take it on faith.

Stand at both ends

One of us selects the farms in Vietnam; the other delivers in Addis. No anonymous middleman, you always speak to the person with hands on the fish.
